(NECN: Washington) - Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Washington Tuesday afternoon for his first official papal visit to the United States.
President Bush made the unusual gesture of greeting the pontiff in person when he landed at Andrews Air Force Base.
It's the first time a president greeted a foreign leader there.
