(NECN) - Continuing protests in Serbia in the wake of Kosovo's declaration of independence has forced the US State Department to order all non-essential personnel to leave the embassy in Belgrade.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice responding to Thursday's riots when protesters set fire to that building stated that the US is holding the Serbian government responsible.
More protest are expected in Serbia this weekend.
Secretary Rice is also calling for quick action in sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
Rice says a new report revealing Tehran's failure to fully cooperate with UN investigators is a key reason to increase sanctions.
The report also says Iran failed to answer certain questions about its nuclear past.
The UN has demanded that Iran freeze its Uranium enrichment program, which can generate nuclear weapons.
Iran claims the program is for peaceful purposes.
