| February 9, 2008 Bush offers federal help to tornado victims

(NECN/ABC) - President Bush went to Tennessee on friday, with support and sympathy for
victims of Tuesday's tornadoes.
Across the south, at least 59 people were killed by the violent storms.
In Arkansas, and across four other states, crews have been hard at work, clearing out the damage, after the deadliest series of tornadoes in two decades.
Help has been pouring in from the American Red Cross, FEMA, and neighbors of those affected by the deadly storms.
President Bush has declared disaster areas in Arkansas and Tennessee, freeing up money for infrastructure like water and sewer lines. Some of the people hardest hit will also be eligible to for emergency grants.
