BOLTON, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old high school
wrestler out for a jog before a meet was hit and killed by a car
driven by a teammate.
Worcester District Attorney Joesph Early Junior says the car was
following Frank Demeo, a senior at Nashoba Regional High School,
who was jogging to a teammate's house in Bolton before a scheduled
4:30 p.m. match yesterday.
The car, driven by 17-year-old David Hayden of Stow, struck
Demeo. Two other members of the school's wrestling team, both
juveniles, were passengers in the car. They ran to call 911.
Demeo was taken to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center
in Worcester where he was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed, but Early says his office is still
investigating.
