| September 15, 2008 Celtics celebrate 17th NBA title in Vermont

(Anya Huneke, NECN: Burlington, VT) - Celtics Pride was front and center in Burlington, Vermont Monday. Several players were on hand to show off the NBA Championship trophy. It was the first stop on a New England wide tour.
Church Street was a sea of green as loyal Boston Celtics fans waited to catch a glimpse of some of their favorite players. Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, and Tony Allen showed off the 2008 NBA Championship trophy.
Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy made the push to get the trophy to the Green Mountains, as part of it's New England tour. Along with the trophy however came the players, mascot and dancers.
It was the Celtics 17th NBA title, and their first in 22 years. The players said they loved the fans enthusiasm and it helps maintain their high from last year.
