DOVER, VT. (AP) - Police say up to 62 New Jersey high school students busted at a large underage drinking party in Dover will enter a court diversion program.
After receiving a tip from New Jersey, police rounded up 110 teenagers from Randolph, N.J., at a weekend party at three rental
houses and ticketed about 62 for underage possession of a malt beverage.
Police also seized 18 kegs of beer.
In the youth alcohol safety program, the students must pay a $150 fine, complete 10 hours of community service, see a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and get an alcohol and drug assessment.
Police are investigating how the students were able to rent the houses and if the owner was aware of the events.
