| August 21, 2008 Florida officials: Fay is 'not over'
|
(NECN: Tallahassee, FL) - Tropical Storm Fay is pouring more rain on Florida's central Atlantic coast after flooding hundreds of homes. Governor Crist, along with other emergency management officials, held a news conference this morning to update the public.
Forecasters expected the storm to continue a zigzag course by
hitting the state for a third time in a week, along with Georgia,
but didn't think it would strengthen to a hurricane over the
Atlantic.
The National Guard has been activated.
Residents should be aware of mosquito-borne illnesses. Be mindful of downed power lines.
Classes remain closed in some areas.
