(NECN: Tallahassee, Florida) - Florida Governor Charlie Crist held a news conference this morning regarding the potential damage from both Tropical Storm Hanna and Hurricane Ike.
"We continue to monitor Tropical Storm Hanna, but also paying very close attention to dangerous Hurricane Ike," said Crist. "We are in a state of emergency as we prepare for potential damage from both Hanna and Ike."
"Be prepared to act in the event that local officials recommend evacuations or protection action. Stay out of the surf," said Crist.
The National Hurricane Center predicts Hannah will most likely
come ashore as a hurricane between Friday and Saturday somewhere
between the east coast of Florida and the North Carolina coast.
Current forecasts show the storm making landfall near the
Georgia-South Carolina border.
