September 29, 2008 Garnett: Posey's loss a chance for C's to grow Play video

(NECN: waltham, Mass.) - As the Celtic get ready to defend their World Championship this fall, they will be missing one key part of last year's squad. James Posey is gone, but while the Celtics say they will miss him, Kevin Garnett says it gives younger Celtics a chance to step up.

"We have new things that we want to try to accomplish coming up," Garnett told reporters. Noting that Posey brought experience and knowledge to the team, "the fact that you lose a player like that, you never want to do that, but I think it's a good way to test the maturity - I think it's a great opportunity for us to show our growth, how far we've come and the things we've learned, and apply them to this year."
