(NECN: Worcester, Mass.) - *Warning: Explicit language* 16-year-old Nga Thi Truong of Worcester, Massachusetts is accused of suffocating her infant son, Khyle, with a teddy bear because she was frustrated he was ill. She plead not guilty this morning at her arraignment and is being held without bail.
Police said the teenager first told police she found the child unresponsive, but later told authorities she suffocated him.
Her boyfriend, 17-year-old Edwin Vasquez, told reporters at the courthouse Tuesday that the baby wasn't suffocated but died in his sleep. Vasquez, who is not the baby's father, said the girl was screaming the baby's name when she found him unconscious.
Vasquez described Truong as a loving, caring person.
