Kanye West Says: ‘No More CDs From Me'

In a string of tweets Monday afternoon, West announced he will no longer be releasing music on CDs.

According to Kanye West, it may be time to throw out those Compact Disc (CD) players. West went on another one of his now-infamous Twitter rants to reveal something else about his future music plans.

In a string of tweets Monday afternoon, West announced he will no longer be releasing music on CDs.

"I was thinking about not making CDs ever again...Only streaming," West tweeted. "Uuuuuuum, so there it is... No more CDs for me." [[371292951, C]]

West's most recent album "The Life of Pablo," which went through multiple public changes, began streaming on Jay Z's paid platform Tidal, a service West is part-owner of. The album was initially available for purchase on Kanye West's website, after his appearance on "Saturday Night Live." But the download link was soon taken down, and is only available to stream.

West, 38, took to Twitter in February to state that "The Life of Pablo" would only be available on Tidal, and never to purchase or download on iTunes. NBC has reached out to Def Jam Recordings for comment. [[204973801,C]]

Kim Kardashian's husband is no stranger to stirring up controversy via Twitter. In late February West didn't like what Canadian music producer Bob Ezrin (who has worked with Kiss, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed and Peter Gabriel) had to say about "Life of Pablo." Ezrin complimented West's work as a rapper but also claimed he wasn't at the level of Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Tupac or Jay Z. Ezrin also criticized West's skills in the field of production, saying he isn't at Timbaland's level.

In response, West issued a string of Tweets directed at Ezrin, and even the producer's children.

"Has anybody ever heard of Bob Ezrin???" West began. "What the f--k does he know about rap... ," before adding, "Your kids are ashamed of their dad... Sorry for speaking about kids...but could you imagine if you were Bob Ezrin's kids... I'm so sorry for them...I will send them free Yeezys to make up for the embarrassment that you have caused your family!" [[289629031,C]]
