Dwarf Runway Show in France Highlights Alternative Beauty Standards

During Paris Fashion Week -- but separate from it -- the France's culture ministry hosted a dwarf fashion show, drawing attention to alternative beauty standards in an industry that values tall, thin bodies.

Fifteen dwarves, all under 4’ 4” tall and all women, walked their own runway, showing off spring-summer styles, according to The Associated Press.

Event organizers said the fashion industry’s elitism doesn’t leave room for short models, but that didn’t stop these models from strutting the runway anyway.
