National Grid and NSTAR recently ended their contracts to buy power from the proposed wind farm off of Cape Cod. Shirley Leung of the Boston Globe said that the only reason NSTAR agreed to the contract was to merge with Northeast Utilities, and Craig Douglas of the Boston Business Journal added that the economics of the project never made sense.
