Narragansett Beer Moving Forward with Plans for R.I. Brewery

The brewing company's CEO said they are still moving forward with plans for a Rhode Island location

A Providence-based brewing company is continuing efforts to move its production to Rhode Island.

Narragansett Beer CEO Mark Hellendrung said in March that the company and the Isle Brewers Guild had been eyeing a vacant mill building in Providence, but it was destroyed by a fire. Narragansett currently makes most of its beer at a Rochester, New York brewery.

Hellendrung tells WPRO-FM they are still moving forward with plans for a Rhode Island location. He says the company should have some "pretty big news" in October or November.

He also confirmed that Narragansett and Allie's Donuts are teaming up to create a Double Chocolate Porter that is set to be out next month.
