Nearly half of Boston restaurants violated serious health and sanitation codes in 2014, according to The Boston Globe.

More than 1,300 restaurants had at least two serious violations, and about 200 places had ten or more.

Violations are practices that can cause food-bourne illness, such as not washing hands properly or not properly storing food.
