(NECN) - NECN Business is turning its focus to babies as we continue to look at the finalists in this year's MassChallenge, the world's largest start-up competition.

Ben Cooper, one of four founders of Sensible Baby, says they've developed a baby monitor that sends alerts to smartphones when a child is in a high-risk sleep position, when the temperature around the child is unsafe and if no movement or breathing is detected - all of which is associated with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

"There is no known cause of SIDS, so there can be no cure, but what we are able to do is key into some of the risk factors associated with it," Cooper says.
