A 55-year-old Missouri man was killed in a tractor trailer crash on Route 495 southbound Monday morning in Mansfield, Massachusetts State Police said.
The crash occurred on the highway just south of Route 95 around 3:35 a.m. Monday. Route 495 southbound was temporarily closed to remove the tractor trailer but quickly reopened.
When Troopers arrived on scene, they discovered a 2022 Freightliner approximately 150 feet into the wood line. Preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor trailer, while northbound on 495, crossed the median and all three southbound lanes and crashed into the woods.
The victim, identified as Peter Fennell, was removed him from the car. Police performed CPR until Foxboro and Mansfield EMS arrived, but Fennell died on scene.

No other vehicles were involved. Troopers were assisted on scene by Foxborough and Mansfield Fire and EMS, and MassDOT.
The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
