An American Airlines flight heading to Miami from Boston was forced to land at New York City’s JFK Airport following reports of smoke in the engine.
New York City stations reported that Flight 1086 touched down safely around 6:40 PM Sunday and was able to make it to a gate on its own power. No injuries were reported among the 191 passengers on board.
Passengers were forced to wait hours before a replacement plane could be located. Eventually, the flight continued and landed at Miami International Airport shortly after 4 AM.
