Maine Teen Killed in Crash During Rainstorm

The 19-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene

Maine state police say worn tires likely caused a driver to hydroplane and strike a tree, killing him on impact.

NBC affiliate WCSH-TV reports that 19-year-old Kelcin Dullas, of Levant, was pronounced dead at the scene of the early Saturday morning accident on southbound Interstate-95 in Pittsfield.

Authorities said they were called at about 1:17 a.m. They said Dullas's truck had an expired inspection sticker and inadequate tires, which they believe caused the crash during the overnight rainstorm.
