Report: Arrest in Times Square Stabbing

A suspect in the deadly stabbing of a 36-year-old man in a Times Square deli earlier this week has been arrested at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, police said.

The man was arrested Friday in the casino bus lobby, according to Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police, The Day of New London reported.

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police said they were notified by NYPD detectives that the man might be at Foxwoods. He was being held at Mashantucket Tribal Police Headquarters on $100,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

The arrest followed days after the victim was found near Times Square with two stab wounds to the chest at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Officials said the man was stabbed at a cafe on Seventh Avenue and ran around the corner before collapsing on West 40th Street.

Witnesses at the scene said the victim was eating in the back of the New Star Cafe when a fight broke out. At some point, the man made his way toward the front of the business, when he was stabbed.

The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
