Tests No Longer Detect Ebola Virus in Amber Vinson: Emory

Tests no longer detect the Ebola virus in Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse being treated at Emory University Hospital near Atlanta, hospital officials say.

Amber Vinson is making good progress, and tests no longer detect the virus in her blood, Emory said in a statement Friday afternoon. Vinson's family had said Wednesday that officials couldn't detect the virus in her blood as of Tuesday evening.

Emory said it had no discharge date for Vinson yet, as she continues to receive supportive care.

Vinson was one of two nurses diagnosed with Ebola after they treated an Ebola-infected patient at a Dallas hospital.

The other nurse, Nina Pham, was released from a Maryland hospital on Friday after doctors declared her free of the virus.

Pham said she felt "fortunate and blessed to be standing here today" as she left the National Institutes of Health's hospital outside Washington.
