Phony Boston Lawyer Gets Prison Time For Cheating 6 People

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old man said he was a veteran and a lawyer, but was neither

A Boston man who claimed to be a veteran and a lawyer with a degree from Harvard University has been sentenced to up to three years in prison for bilking six clients out of more than $32,000.

David Koraca, also known as David Corazza, was also sentenced Wednesday to three years' probation and ordered to pay restitution after pleading guilty to charges including unauthorized practice of law, larceny and forgery.

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old man said he was a veteran and a lawyer, but was neither. They say he preyed upon people and exploited their trust.

The Boston Herald reports that Koraca was arrested a year ago when one victim told police he made unauthorized charges to her credit card, then stopped returning calls when she tried to confront him.
