Man Pronounced Dead After Car Hits Tree in Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Police have identified a 20-year-old man who died after the car he was driving struck a tree in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Police say Raymond Oliver, of Portsmouth, was driving south on Turnpike Avenue on Tuesday night when his car crossed the double yellow lines and struck a tree on the opposite side of the road.

He was taken to St. Anne's Hospital, in Fall River, Massachusetts, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
