1 Dead in Dennis, Mass. Car Accident

Police responded to the crash in the area of 711 Route 28 around 4:43 pm to find a truck had struck a utility pole and a Rite Aid sign

One person is dead after a one-car accident in Dennis, Massachusetts Saturday evening, police said.

Police responded to the crash in the area of 711 Route 28 in Dennis Port around 4:43 p.m. to find a truck had struck a utility pole and a Rite Aid sign.

According to the Dennis Police Department, the driver of a 2001 Ford truck, 26-year-old Harwich resident Patrick Vaillancourt had been partially ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the truck, a 36-year-old man from Chatham, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This incident is currently under investigation.
