3 Vessels Damaged, 1 Minor Injury When Pier Collapses

Cause of the collapse in Eastport, Maine, is under investigation

A collapsed pier caused one minor injury and property damage in Eastport, Maine, Thursday.

Three vessels, the Ada C. Lore, Medric 2, and Double Trouble II were damaged.

The caretaker of the Ada C. Lore suffered only minor injuries, and has been released from medical care.

The pier is unstable and continuing to slowly fail. All equipment and personnel have been removed, according to the Coast Guard.

The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
