State police say a Massachusetts man is dead and a woman has been injured after a two-car crash in Holderness, New Hampshire.
Officers responded to the scene on Route 3 just before 1 p.m. Thursday.
Police say the car driven by 56-year-old Michael Higgins was headed southbound when it appeared to have crossed over the solid yellow lines into the travel lane of a car headed northbound, resulting in a mostly head-on collision.
The Waltham, Massachusetts man was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the northbound car was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
Police say it appears that alcohol was a factor in the crash. Authorities are investigating.
