A Maine man and his 25-year-old son were killed after a fire ripped through their home Monday morning.
The Maine State Fire Marshal's Office said the heavy fire at the one-story home on Cattle Pond Road in Washington broke out shortly before 6 a.m.
Fire crews and neighbors pulled 25-year-old Isaac Rhodes from the burning home, and officials said that resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The body of his father, 53-year-old Steven Rhodes, was found in the rubble of the fire that had fallen into the basement, according to state fire marshals.
A woman, identified as 56-year-old Elizabeth Rhodes, was also injured in the fire. She was taken to Maine Medical Center for smoke inhalation and burns.
The fire remains under investigation.
