1 Killed in Bed and Breakfast Fire

One person has died in a fire at a Vermont bed and breakfast Friday afternoon.

State police confirm the fire at the English Rose Inn in Westfield was reported around 3:15 p.m. When crews arrived, the building was fully engulfed.

Police believe the body found was that of the inn's co-owner, Gary Bouchard-Pike, who had been trying to thaw out frozen pipes when the blaze broke out.

According to police, two people made it out safely. One was taken to North Country Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and minor burns, and the other was unhurt.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental, and it is not being considered suspicious.
