1 Teen Killed, 2 Injured in Crash in Milo, Maine

Speed was likely a factor in the crash

Police in Maine say three teens were injured, one fatally, when their car went off a road in Milo and struck a tree.

Sgt. Robert Cook says the 17-year-old boy killed was a passenger in the rear seat of a two-door sedan that skittered off Lakeview Road around 1:20 p.m. Sunday and crashed.

The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle and a 16-year-old passenger were transported to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Cook says speed was likely a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Maine State Police are assisting Milo officers with the reconstruction of the crash scene.

Cook says he's unsure what high school the three boys attended. Police have not identified the victims.
