10 Injured After Bus Crashes Into Bus Shelter

The bus driver was also injured, but no injuries were considered life-threatening

At least 10 people were injured after a RIPTA bus crashed into a bus shelter in Providence, Rhode Island Monday.

According to necn affiliate WJAR, the crash happened at the East Side Bus Tunnel off North Main Street just after 6 p.m.

WJAR was told at least nine passengers, including one child, were taken from the scene by ambulance and suffered neck and back injuries.

The bus driver was also injured, but no injuries were considered life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
