A 12-year-old boy was pinned under a car that struck him Friday afternoon in Providence, Rhode Island, according to necn affiliate WJAR.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m. The child's mother identified him to WJAR as Manase Niyonkuru.
Police say the victim was seriously injured and transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
Niyonkuru was sitting on the stoop of a home when he was hit. Authorities tell WJAR a woman who lives nearby was driving the car.
The crash remains under investigation.
