13-Year-Old Missing From DCF Facility Found

A 13-year-old Lowell, Massachusetts, girl that went missing from a state Department of Children and Families facility was found Thursday, according to her aunt. 

Cyndell Martin reportedly walked away from Pathways, a DCF-contacted facility in Haverhill, on Dec. 31. Her aunt Michelle Gath told necn she had been at the facility since September and that she is in DCF custody. The DCF would not confirm the information, citing privacy rules.

According to its website, Pathways is a residential treatment program serving females between the ages of 12 and 18 referred by DCF who have emotional, behavioral or psychiatric problems who are at risk for hospitalization and whose traditional living arrangements are unable to meet their needs.

No other information about the nature of her disappearance was available.
