14-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Connection With Boston Shooting

A 23-year-old woman was taken to Boston Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Boston.

Boston police say officers responded to Norfolk Street in Mattapan for a person shot around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

When they arrived, police found a 23-year-old woman who had been shot. The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, and officers began searching for suspects.

Police say the officers were ultimately pointed in the direction of Clarkwood Street after canvasing Evelyn Street, and eventually were shown an open door in a garage near 39 Clarkwood St., then went into an open basement, where they found three suspects.

Police say one of the suspects, the 14 year old, was positively identified as the suspect who had the gun and shot the victim on Norfolk Street.

The teen was arrested and charged with several charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The teen was not identified. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
