The competition began Thursday, with each artist having 21 hours to shape a 10-ton pile of sand into an award-winning sculpture.

Judging and voting for the People's Choice award takes place Saturday from 1-4 p.m. The awards ceremony takes place at 8 p.m. and fireworks cap the event at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

The sculptures will remain on display through July 5 and will be lit for night viewing.
