First Case of EEE in NH This Year

EEE found in an adult from Conway

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services confirmed the first human case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis on Friday.

It's was found in an adult from Conway. The last confirmed case of EEE in a person was documented in 2009.

Last year, 27 cases Of EEE were detected in the Granite State. 24 of them were mosquito batches and 3 animals.

Symptoms of the EEE disease often appear 4 to 10 days after being bitten. The disease carries are high mortality rate than that of West Nile Virus.

There is no word on the condition of the human who was infected.
