Man Jumps From 2nd Story Window to Escape Fire in Quincy, Mass.

Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire in Quincy, Massachusetts Wednesday morning where one man jumped from a second story window to escape.

The fire broke out at a rooming house at 31 Winter Street around 3 a.m.

All 17 people inside the building were able to escape. One person jumped out a window on the second floor to escape the fire, according to the fire chief.

In all, seven people were taken to several hospital with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Four patients were taken to Quincy Medical Center and three were taken to South Shore Hospital.

According to the Quincy Fire Department, Brewster Ambulance Services also assisted the other residents from the home find shelter.

Fire officials believe the fire started in the back porch of the building.
