2 Arrested in Connection With Suspected Credit Card Fraud

Police said they believe ShaoQing Chen and Kewang Lin, both from Brooklyn, New York, tried to pass at least 11 credit cards over a 2-day period

Authorities in Vermont arrested two men in connection with suspected credit card fraud Friday, according to a news release.

Police said they believe ShaoQing Chen and Kewang Lin, both from Brooklyn, New York, tried to pass at least 11 credit cards over a two-day period at Hannaford’s at the University Mall. Authorities said the men made nearly $7,000 in fraudulent transactions.

Police said the men were buying a variety of gift cards. Authorities said additional credit card charges occurred in Essex, Williston and potentially Milton and Middlebury.

Police said both men were logged in the Chittenden Regional Correctional Center with $25,000 bail each.
