Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a drug dispute

Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a drug dispute in South Portland, Maine, that sent two other men to the hospital, one with a gunshot wound and one with a stab wound.

Lt. Frank Clark said Essa Sayed, of Portland, and Zachary Swain, of Cape Elizabeth, both 18, are being held on $100,000 bail each following the dispute late Wednesday night at the city's Wainwright Sports Complex that involved what police called "a relatively small quantity of marijuana."

One victim, a 19-year-old man from South Portland, was treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound and has been released.

The other victim, 18, from South Portland, remains hospitalized with a stab wound.

Their names were not made public.

The investigation is ongoing.
