2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Home Blaze

Authorities say a house fire in Providence has sent two firefighters to the hospital.

The fire broke out early Friday morning in a single-family house in the city's Olneyville section.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.

Fire officials say one firefighter suffered second-degree burns on his beck and back. The second firefighter pulled a muscle. Both were treated at Roger Williams Hospital.

The fire caused significant damage to the second floor of the house.

The cause has not yet been determined.

The American Red Cross is helping the family of two adults and five children.
