2 Maine Men Charged in Los Angeles Murder

They are being held on $1 million bail and are expected to appear in court Wednesday

Two men from Maine have been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man in California that was witnessed by an off-duty police officer who helped arrest them.

Twenty-two-year-old Troy T. McVey and 21-year-old Colby R. Kronholm are being held on $1 million bail and are expected to appear in court Wednesday.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Sara Faden says the shooting occurred at a Hollywood intersection late Sunday night. The off-duty officer followed the suspects and led police to them. It's not yet clear what motivated the killing.

The unidentified victim died at a hospital Monday. Police say he's about 50 and most likely homeless.

Both men are from Greenville, Maine, and have been convicted of more minor crimes in the state.
