    1 Killed in Conn. Crash

One person was killed and another was injured in a serious crash on Route 10/Salmon Brook Street in Granby late Friday afternoon, according to police.

Anthony Mazziotti, 71, of Granby, died at Hartford Hospital of injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash. He was driving a 2006 Lexus sedan northbound on route 10 when he collided with an oncoming 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by Natalie Lynch, 45, of Southwick, Massachusetts.

Police responded to the crash near Rickwood Lane at about 4:41 on Friday.  A LifeStar helicopter was called, but couldn't fly due to high winds.

Mazziotti was taken to the hospital, where he died. Lynch was transported to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on her condition.

It's not clear if the drivers were traveling alone.

Route 10 was closed in the area while police responded to the crash.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction team is helping investigate the crash.

Granby police ask any witnesses to contact the department at 860-844-5335.
