Police: Mother, 2-Year-Old Son Shot Over Parking Incident

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts, are investigating after a mother and her son were shot in a car over a parking incident.

The incident occurred near 40 Everett Gaylord Boulevard just before 8:30 p.m. Monday. Police taped off a large area around a stroller.

Police say the victims, a 28-year-old woman and her 2-year-old boy, are expected to survive. The child was struck in the shoulder.

The shooting happened after the car the victims were in almost struck a person while pulling into a parking space, according to police. The suspect then fired shots at the victim's car, striking her and the child.

Residents of the Plumley Village apartment complex told the Worcester Telegram and Gazette that they heard six or seven shots.

There were no other injuries reported.
