Two Lowell, Massachusetts, men charged with participating in a violent armed home invasion in Bedford have been held without bail pending a hearing to determine whether they are a danger to society.

Michael Gonzalez was held after pleading not guilty Tuesday to charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to maim, and masked armed robbery. Another suspect, Vini Proeung, pleaded not guilty to the same charges last week.

Dangerousness hearings for the 20-year-old Proeung and 21-year-old Gonzalez is scheduled for Monday.

Police say one man was shot and two others beaten during the home invasion July 22. All three were hospitalized.

Authorities say three suspects forced their way into an apartment looking for marijuana.

A shotgun thought to be used in the home invasion has been recovered.
