22-Year-Old Dies After Car Crashes Into House

Police say the car became airborne after it struck a curb and a stone wall, hit a tree and then crashed through a window of the home

Police say a 22-year-old man died after he crashed his car into a home in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

It happened at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say he was driving on Sayles Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle.

Police say the car became airborne after it struck a curb and a stone wall, hit a tree and then crashed through a window of the home.

Crews pulled the driver from the car and took him to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A couple was inside the home at the time and wasn't hurt.

His identity is being withheld until family is notified.

Witnesses say the car was traveling at about 75 mph before the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
