Firefighters say a barn fire in the Vermont town of Royalton has killed 23 animals.
Firefighters say they responded to the fire early Monday after a neighbor called. The occupants of the home escaped without injury.
Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the fire due to the extent of the damage. Damages to the barn, garage and home are estimated to be in excess of $1 million.
