A man has died after being shot in the chest in New Haven on Saturday afternoon.
Police say they were dispatched to a house on Henry Street around 12:30 p.m. to investigate a reported assault. When officers arrived, they say they found a 23-year-old New Haven man who had been shot in the chest. First responders rushed him to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he died at 1:00 p.m.
The man's identity has not been released.
Officers believe the shooting occurred inside of the house and not on the public street.
Detectives are investigating the shooting.
