NH Couple to Face Judge in Child Abuse Case

(NECN: Eileen Curran, Plaistow, N.H.) - The couple charged in a severe case of child abuse that left a 3-year-old boy blind and critically injured faces a judge Monday morning.

Jessica Linscott, 23, and Roland Dow, 27, were captured and arrested in Orlando, Fla. - after nearly two weeks on the run from police.

The two were extradited back to the Granite State over the weekend.

Roland Dow is accused of severely beating and burning Linscott's 3-year-old son, James.

The little boy has had two brain surgeries and continues to recover from his injuries in the hospital.

Helen Fram says she doesn't believe the accusations against her grandson.

"He would never hurt any baby. He would never hurt anybody. He lives right next door, and I would hear anything going on," she said.

Linscott is facing six counts of child endangerment for failing to protect the child.

She and Roland Dow will be arraigned separately, and neither is expected in court. They will be arraigned via video from jail.
