(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - Jurors will begin to hear deliberations Wednesday in the retrial of Mattapan murder suspect 35-year-old Dwayne Moore.
Tuesday, lawyers presented their closing arguments in the case.
Moore's fate is now in the hands of Suffolk Superior Court jurors after prosecutor Ed Zabin asked them in his closing statement to find the defendant guilty.
This is Moore's second trial on the charges, his first having ended with a deadlocked jury. He is accused of killing four people, including a 2-year-old boy during the September 2010 shootings.
In his closing, Defense Attorney John Amabile said prosecutors had the wrong man, blaming the massacre instead on state's star witness Kamani Washington, who was with Moore and another man on the night of the shooting but made a deal to testify against Moore.
Marcus Hurd, 34, is the sole survivor. He now says Moore was the masked gunman who shot him. Moore never said it on the stand, so the defense told the jury there is no forensic evidence that put him at the scene.
The prosecution dismissed the theories put forward by the defense, urging the jury to consider just the facts.
