Newtown, Conn. Funeral Directors Reflect on Sandy Hook Tragedy

(NECN/WVIT: Jeff Stoecker) - Helping grieving people deal with the loss of a loved on is what funeral directors do.

But Saturday, in Connecticut, funeral directors who helped the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre were the ones who needed comforting, as they are struggling with the horror as well.

Nearly 80 funeral directors from the 11 Connecticut funeral homes that worked with the families fathered to reflect on their own experiences.

"It's never easy to help or to see the funeral of a child... let alone multiple... and the tragedy of what had happened," said Nicole Paquette of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association.

WVIT reporter Jeff Stoecker has more on the story.
