(NECN: John Moroney, Medford, Mass.) - A Medford, Mass. neighborhood is on edge, hoping and praying for the safe return of 17-year-old Nicholas Joy.
The missing teenager has lived in a Medford home with his mother, sister and grandmother for at least 10 years, according to neighbors. Joy was skiing with his father at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine went he went missing Sunday afternoon.
The missing skier is a student at Medford High School, where they are keeping an eye on reports about the search taking place in Maine.
The superintendent of schools issued a statement, saying in part: "Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. We deeply hope that he will be found safe very soon."
